  • Leaderboard Data: Your name, level, and XP may be visible on leaderboards if you opt in
  • Notification Data: Push subscription endpoint and keys if you enable reminders

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and personalize your Ummati experience
  • To track your Sunnah practice progress and achievements
  • To send daily reminders if notifications are enabled
  • To display relevant ads based on your region
  • To measure ad performance and improve our services based on aggregated usage patterns

What We Do NOT Do

  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties
  • We do not create sensitive profiles based on religious practice intensity
  • We do not store precise GPS location — only your selected region for ad targeting
  • We do not share individual data with advertisers — only aggregated metrics

Advertising

Ummati displays ads from carefully selected Muslim-friendly businesses to support the app. These ads help us keep the app free and cover hosting costs.

  • Ads are delivered based on your region setting only
  • We log when ads are shown and clicked to measure effectiveness
  • Advertisers receive aggregated performance data, not individual user information

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Your password is securely hashed and never stored in plain text. All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. We keep data collection minimal and only store what is necessary for the app to function. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google OAuth: For optional sign-in authentication
  • Web Push: For delivering notification reminders

Children's Privacy

Ummati supports managed profiles for children, created and controlled by a parent or teacher account. Children do not create their own accounts directly. Parent and teacher accounts are responsible for the data of profiles they manage and can delete them at any time.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Disable push notifications at any time
